Roland Juno-6 meets JU-06

"Roland Juno-6 and JU-06 sound demo, the Roland boutique module is based on the original Juno-106 from the 80's, didn't have access to the 106 at the time so brought in it's older brother, the Juno-6. I'm using MIDI patterns sent from ableton to drive the boutique JU-06. With no MIDI on the Juno-6, impulses had to be sent from ableton to sync the Juno-6 arpeggio clock.

Added drums & Reverb included to show both the synthesizers working in a composition & as part of a live performance.

Roland JD-800 digital synthesizer , prog mod filters

"the JD-800 is a serious thing - or was - in 1991. Let me, for a start, describe the basic idea behind this synth and its architecture. It is a rompler with internal waveshapes (or samples) stackable upon each other, so that you can have a patch made of four sounds. The first one can be a saw wave, the second one a vox-choir wave, the third one a marimba-pluck and the fourth one a white noise wave. Then you route it (not all of it - each oscillator / wave independently) through multi-type filter, mangle it with the use of two multi-shape LFOs and a pitch envelope, and so on. Nothing mind-blowing, yet a considerable step ahead after the 1983-86 series of simple Roland synths."

Roland TR8S Timing Issues Moving 5 Or More Faders at Once?

PROBLÈMES D'AMOUR Well, not everything is immediately perfect. Great love and solid partnerships require dialog and compromise and devotion. Hard to come by these days, but let's talk about the down side of the TR-8S firmware 1.02 1. CONTROLLER LIMITATION Moving 5 or more faders at once will produce a timing stumble. Here I demonstrate that this is not the case with 1, 2, 3 or 4 rugged fader moves at once, but when we get to 5 at the same time it stumbles and can't do it. I don't know if this is a firmware issue or a limitation of the CPU, but I've really got my toes crossed for a firmware fix for this. 2. AUXILIARY TRIGGER WEIRDNESS In the second clip of this set I demonstrate that the dedicated trigger out works perfectly. No problems. In the last clip I have assigned outputs 1-4 to be triggers, and then assigned tracks 2-5 to operate as triggers (output set to aux 1-4) Theoretically then, whatever is programmed on track 2 should come out as a pattern of triggers from output 1. As you can see this is inconsistent and unreliable. Again, I don't know if this is firmware or hardware, but I have my toes crossed that this is something that a firmware update will set straight. The trigger out works great, but there's something still not quite right about the triggers which come out of the assignable outputs. Could be the length of the trigger. Or possibly the voltage. I haven't measured the output so I don't know. I've communicated with Roland about this, and while I doubt they'll take me up on my offer to help, I am positive their engineers are capable and will solve these hassles fast. I'm posting this to be a part of of the general dialog about pluses and minuses and issues as well as excitement around the TR-8S. It's a really lovely machine and I've got faith that these details will soon be sorted. #Roland #TR8S #rolandaira #problemesdamour

There are a bunch more I love so expect a follow-up video!
This unit is a MUST HAVE for synth studios because it is very RARE,
has external Input & it is multi-timbral (!!!) making it
an awesome multi-track vintage synth sound module
for an external sequencer, DAW, Music Workstation,
Drum Machine etc.
I love this, honestly I need it more that some other units
& I will be working with it long into the future.. There are
a lot of other musicians & producers who feel that way, too!
These range from $150-$700 depending on the seller,
where it is coming from, condition... I can go on...
I was lucky enough to catch this one from Crazy Dave's
in Orange Park Florida - one of my local synthesizer haunts!
Get an M-VS1 if you can! BUT REMEMBER! they do NOT
respond to external Sysex commands! So no Cutoff, Release,
nothing unless you use a specific editor made for the "M"
line of Roland "Expansion" Racks... I can't find a link to add
or it would be here. Be free to post it if you know where people
can download it or one that works FOR FREE. Thank you!! Rik
