277r Delay with CV Filtering

Published on Apr 10, 2017 djangosfire

"Exploring the 277r Buchla format digital delay.

A casual walk through and demo of the 277r using CV to control the delay rate AND a LPG to tame the crunchy tone of the 277r.

Patch:

Audio into 277r, output into 292e LPG, out to mixer.

I use a 256r dual cv processor to send CV to the 277r AND the 292e LPG.

Thank you - Djangosfire

PS - in the vid I keep saying 1/2t inputs.... in fact I meant 'outputs' :)"

Many aspects of the timbre control via 218r touch interface.

All sounds from my DIY Buchla 200r system.

Thank you for checking out my experiments!

277r Delay Testing August 2015 - Buchla DIY

Published on Sep 10, 2015

"Finished building a Buchla format 277r Digital Delay. Set up a neat patch that focused on extremely short delays that are feeding back - which creates 'pitched flanging' efx. Used the 266r as set of random voltages into a 258r and back into the 277r. A 281r is the clock, and all audio passed through 292r LPG's - then some of the 292r mix out passed through a 275r reverb. Cheers! - Djangosfire"

Buchla 259 Processing

Published on May 20, 2015 Todd Barton

"Continuing in my didactic mode here is a demo of creating different processed layers from a single sequence using just two oscillators. For better audio:
http://soundcloud.com/user7621213/buc...

This is a simple 7 stage sequence going to the Principal Osc and a low pitch bending bass from the Modulation Osc.

Using the Buchla 205 Audio Matrix I have split up 2 of the audio outs of the Principal Oscillator and sent them to different sections of the 292 for processing, I’ve further taken those independent outs and sent them to the 296 Spectral Processor and 277r Delay. Similarly I’ve used audio outs of the Modulation Oscillator and sent them to the 292 and beyond.

This little video demonstrates the various processing via the 205 matrix mixer along with some FM and feedback echo on the 277 and AM modulation of the Principal at times. Enjoy!"

Buchla 257c 277r Sculpting

Published on May 11, 2015 Todd Barton

"Back to my didactic mode: A rudimentary patch to demonstrate the simple sonic sculpting function of the Buchla 257 Voltage Processor morphing the Timbre of the 259 oscillator and using the FM in on the 277r Signal Delay Unit to add some fuzz and different accent pattern. The shifting bass and treble accents are the 266 going to the Harmonics of the 259. For better audio:

Trip to the Catacombs - Buchla timbral improv

Published on Feb 24, 2014 djangosfire·170 videos

"I was inspired by a recent Todd Barton Buchla clip/patch, that featured a 294r 4-Channel Comb Filter... So while exploring a similar idea, using 4x channels of a 295r Comb Filter... I came up with this "Trip to the Catacombs" Buchla timbral improv!

There is allot going on in the patch. But basically, the very CORE of the patch is:

- 258r into a 277r Delay
- 277r Delay into a 295r Comb Filter
- 4 separate channels of the 295r out into 4x separate 292 LPG channels
- 4 LPG channels into a 207r mixer, mixed and panned into stereo
- 207r stereo out into 2x channels of the 227r mixer
- KEY PART OF THE SOUND is I have 4x different 208r Random Voltage outs opening and closing the 4x separate LPG channels!
- also, the 277r delay is feedback into itself... so you get nice repeats.... and remember, the delay out is the ONLY audio going into the 295r comb filter.

Of course, there is sequencing via the 208r, and transposing via 218e Presets (also used to control the cross mod FM amount of the 258r).

Thanks for checking out the vid!!
