E102 Quad Temporal Shifter - ASR Quick Test #3

Published on May 11, 2014 John L Rice·266 videos

"I didn't have much time today to play with concept and make it sound really cool and build more of a 'tune/composition' out of it but I hope you get the idea that the multiple delayed ASR outputs are very useful for more things than controlling the pitch of multiple oscillators!"

E102 Quad Temporal Shifter - Noise Demo #2

Published on May 9, 2014 John L Rice·263 videos

"In this video I'm experimenting with one of the digital noise types produced by a prototype sample of the soon to be released Synth Tech E102 module as a modulation source for several other modules.

This module does a lot more than just noise too! Keep an eye out for future videos that will demo the E102's ASR (Analog Shift Register) capabilities! Here is an audio only taste on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/johnlrice/e102..."

E102 Quad Temporal Shifter - Noise Demo #1

Published on May 8, 2014 John L Rice·262 videos

"Extremely long and boring to most! Demo to allow people to hear the types of noise produced by the soon to be released Synth Tech E102 module.

Due to lack of time and family concerns I didn't take the time to put text in to describe what I was doing/using in the various sections but basically:
At times I modulate the noise spectrum with a Synth Tech E355 LFO, WMD MultiMode Envelope and Mattson/Division 6 SQ816 sequencer and usually attenuating the modulation with a Malekko 8NU8R. Sometiles I'll dial in a bunch of reverb from a TC Electronic Hall Of Fame reverb pedal.

Note: this is a prototype, the production version will have a nicer looking panel and be labeled correctly. Also note that the hand written label correction is also incorrect! ;-) The CV input jack I'm using is indeed the Noise CV input.

I'll do a 'Noise Demo #2' that will be shorter and mainly focus on using the noise output to modulate other modules. (and it will be a lot shorter too! ;-)"

Interview with Paul T Schreiber of Synthesis Technology

"Like many other electronic musicians lately I have been obsessed with my Eurorack modular. A few modules I own really stand out. Three of my favorites are from a company called Synthesis Technology. Synth-tech as people call them is Paul T. Schreiber. If you look at his resume you will see he is an experienced audio engineer. You can hear his expertise in his modules. Enjoy a one hour Wire to the Ear interview with Paul as we discuss Chris Randall, MOTM, an $18,000 home stereo, the end of Blackberry, Tandy Radio Shack, the power of digital, patents and stealing designs, Eurorack power issues, the upcoming E370 Quad Morphing VCO/E371, E102 Digital CV Processor/Quad Temporal Shifter and what would Paul eat as his death row meal.

“So a lot of people grew up drooling in music stores. I drooled in the stereo store and I wanted to have this stereo system that cost $18,000. So I told my wife…” - Paul T Schreiber
