CHI (チ) featuring Roland SYSTEM 100 Synthesizer (HD music video demo)

video by Robert Saint John

"CHI (チ), a performance with the Roland SYSTEM 100 semi-modular analog monosynth from 1975. I'm using the Roland Boutique A-01 Controller+Generator to both trigger the gate of the Model 104 Sequencer and to maintain sync between the System 100 and an iPad running Zenbeats, for its CR-78 based drumkit. Model 103 Mixer provides spring reverb and is connected to the BOSS RE-20 SpaceEcho. Live performance captured with Roland GO:Mixer.

video by Robert Saint John

"I've finished my #SYSTEM100 makeover for the #Roland #System1m, and now you can DIY too: I am making my "SYSTEM-100 MODEL-1M" overlay design template available for FREE (under Creative Commons CC-BY-NC 4.0) at http://bit.ly/SYS100ZIP (link directly to zip file).

This video summarizes the build process and shows my own finished version, including custom side panels and classic style knobs. Original tune "100M Light Years" by me, with all sounds (multitracked in Zenbeats) from the System-1m with the SYSTEM-100 Plug-Out, available through Roland Cloud."
