Invincible Garrisons of the 4075

Published on Jun 22, 2018 StudioElectronics

"Studio Electronics Boomstar 4075 sound like pearls—Think Russian piano teacher.

Found some 2017 isos yesterday and just taking my hands off the plow now. Gorgeous mood’s what I’m in because of it. Transcendental composing, sequencing and programming by maestro and marvelous human being @livsinghkhalsa. Dropping the needle where it suits me and mashing/reversing/time stealing/shaping selected takes by YT, MSR. Healing notes in this piece by Liv in my estimation.

These 4075s (yes the older model in this instance) sound decent Honus. Maybe I'll upload the entire Boomstar iso lead bounce... maybe. They are insanely gorgeous after all.

There are basses too...

Mustard flowers never disappoint 'round this time of year.

Enjoy,
MSR"

The Game Needs You

Published on Oct 23, 2017 StudioElectronics
Update: video Re-Published on Oct 24, 2017

"Thank you Rickey West/Kool & the Gang for The Funk. I hope yous don't mind the bite, brawl, and sprawl.

SE-02 does everything, with the exception of (probably not a proper use of a colon, or list construction):

EMU Xtreme Lead Piano—apart from the fairly feral SE-02 External Input processed piano layers in the Cuban-flavored breaks—makes 1st appearance after the opening bass salvo;
95% of the hi hats;
non 90's kick;
voices;
ambient Golden Gate Park tunnel/stargate (Sunshine Jones knows the one), and "All the Things" Lyle Link's transcendent alto sax was on that eternal day spent with son #1 son Carlo (who maddeningly despises the saxophone). Good thing I never made Lyle any the wiser when we chatted warmly after the tune concluded; his entire performance is on my personal Facebook page. And yes brother Greg St. Regis and I are shedding the solo; the sax-like break in this piece is blessed by what I "met" in those SF reverberation revelations. Pay homage to the maestro, beautiful music people: www.lylelink.com/

Moving on from the things I must be forgetting, to bits I remember:

Synth chords/stabs/pads/moods—demanding polyphonics arranged and split apart in DP9, and then fed to the SE-02 one life at a time. Not as time consuming as one might imagine, and sounds so nice...

Kool's chords were tuned in the 3 OSC '02, and multi-tracked for the juicy result I hoped would follow, which did.

The ethereal flutey floating... lead (really needed another f word) = iPhone and SE-02 SPEAKER! Don't even think I touched it after that. And folks assigned that little guy to the trash heap upon 1st blush—another knee-jerk reaction proven wrong. We only know what we know, so knowing otherwise is tricky.

Crunch chords courtesy of DP9's brutally virtual Custom '59—you can hear the raw sound hard right.

Free now to pursue the next sound obsession, and not sure if that's wise... thanks for listening and reading, if you got this far,
MSR 10-12-17

Oh yeah the ending verse, one can almost discern:

The game, always lies beneath the truth;
why you surprised when it's uncouth?
The game, strips and preys with nail and tooth:
you can't decry your sacrificed youth.

SE-02 - 13:33.333

Published on Aug 20, 2017 StudioElectronics

"SoundCloud copy and a few adds:

One takin' it on the SE-02; capitalizing on some now mysterious and murky, dual-modulation programming technique. I'm sure I'll find it again... well maybe.

Whittled down from 19 Minutes+. Glad that's over with.

Incredibly full-bodied and musical Resonance on this ladder filter, especially after Tim Caswell's latest OS tweaks which cleaned everything up.

Touch of wet, compression, EQ, and limiting.

Tonestar 2600 - Arpeggiation Daved

Published on Jun 28, 2016 StudioElectronics

"Sequential-ed (arpeggiated) Tonestar 2600 featuring the feedback feature; won't you? A fairly throbbing, bubbling, transient-heavy affair with a touch of outs-to-outs patching: makes X-Mod/notch/highpass filter tones 'attainably' enjoyable where the exoteric architecture would seemingly preclude it."

Tonestar 2600 - St. Neumann's Bump Bass in Fm

Published on Jun 23, 2016 StudioElectronics

"An almost MSR quality bassline does its level best to get across the deep and diverse tonality of this premium quality euro synth voice.

Additional right hand (and DP8 patience & smarts) support from Drew Neumann. Nice room! Nice room!

.wav file for your purest listening pleasure: http://studioelectronics.com/assets/A...

p.s. The phrases were played in fm; the tuning of the T* was likely not at concert."

MODSTAR Sensei Analog 4: 'Simple Simple Funky Bassline'

Published on Oct 8, 2015 StudioElectronics

"A not so Quick Go at the 1st Sensei Analog System Featuring Nearly Everything Screwed In

The 5089 Filter's resonance is jacked into the Sci Fi—so no 5089 audio is to be heard in any of these "Quck Go" dems. Scandalous.

Nothing systematic here folks; we just didn't want #SA1 to leave the shop without a hug and kiss—c'mon it's the brothers Regis (an oblique reference to 'Raging Bull')!

Pre final tuning/calibration, and no we weren't tuned to concert.

Detailed individual module demos to follow.

A bit of sweetening tends to be placed mainly on the right channel; in this 'Low Light El Segundo Shop Demo' there is a touch of wet on the left; the right side is also blessed by a tasteful L3 treatment.

iPad mic audio gets its piece of the action near the 9:30 mark and builds until the conclusion for ambience / s&g sake.

Minimal normalization applied to the left.

Enjoy,
SE/Analogia Inc."

Studio Electronics - Sensei Bodians Uncut

"Alright, a few snips were made.

Sensei Hybrid (transitional). Touch of compression, limiting and verb. 5089, 4075, and SEM (does the heavy lifting) filter in the main. 3003 is on the Grainy Clamp-It, which is only featured very briefly at end.

Our SciFi module gets its knobs and switches dirty on this one...

Oh yeah, the left side is a bar behind—well 97% of the time.
