Buchla 259e Follow Up
YouTube via 7thDanSound | February 23, 2011 |
"This video is a bonus episode and follow up to a previous video. I was asked if the 259e was good at doing bass and got a few pointers from boobtube356 http://www.youtube.com/user/boobtube356 Great many thanks for that! This is very subtle and takes a lot of exploration to get the best out of. I suppose I'm just barely scratching the surface here.
Also, I found the top three wavetables to contain mostly noise but actually they don't. The FM index knobs scan some other memory area and creates interesting sounds. I had no idea!"

Buchla Bells II
YouTube via boobtube356 | October 13, 2010
"The 285e Frequency Shifter determines the pitch of the sound. The sound source is the 259e in mem skew mode. In the first half, the mod oscillator modulates the morph."

Buchla Beat 10
YouTube Uploaded by boobtube356 on Dec 25, 2011
"Percussion experiment using the 291e and 255. Then more crud added for fun. If you ever wondered what you can do with eight slew limiters, here you go.
Bass kick = 291e channel A fed back into itself (no external sound source).
Channels B&C processing noise from the 266e.
All three channels use the built-in 291e VCAs (292e not used).
255 supplies EG modulation, 250e supplies pulses.
291e ALL output goes straight to the 206e (only one mixer channel required).
Main sequence is the 259e v21 tracking mode, morph modulation.
261e + 285e does the standard plinkity plink at the end, taking unattenuated pitches from the QRV section of the 266e."

Buchla 259e Mem Skew
YouTube via boobtube356
"259e morph gets EG modulation again. This time the memory skew point is modulated continuously using the 259e modulation osc through the 210e. The depth of the modulation is being adjusted on the 210e."
Buchla 259e Bells
"Same patch with modification. Now 259e output is going to 285e balanced modulator where it is modulated by 259e mod osc triangle. Mod osc of 261e takes over mem skew modulation. EG also modulates 285e depth (timbre). This is a nice trick to try."

Automatic Drone Machine
YouTube via boobtube356
"Eurorack modular synthesizer generating a random selection of drones. The main sound is a Cwejman VCO-2RM sine ring modded with a Blacet Miniwave. The "percussion" part is the same audio further ring modded with a PlanB M15 sine wave, or a Cwejman VCO-6 ring modded with a Doepfer A-117 (selected by a Doepfer A-134-2 crossfader at random) then passing through the Makenoise QMMG low pass gate. The pitch control of all the VCOs is shared and selected via Doepfer A-148 sample and hold."

PLL Detuned Unison

"Two Doepfer A-111's one Cwejman VCO-6 and A-196 PLL in unison. The PLL is hitting the lower octaves and missing on occasion creating an unpredictable detuning."

Tonal Buchla Patch II
YouTube via Uploaded by boobtube356 on Mar 6, 2011
'258v into 292e into 291e. Sequence is 250e in strobe mode. 255 handles the envelopes. Pulses to 255 are AND of 266e QRV with 250e ALL output using the 254. Quick patch that sounded cool. Thought I would share."

254e first explorations
Published on Apr 14, 2016 Todd Barton
"I've been beta testing this new, cool Buchla format 254e module from Doug CL (aka boobtube356). Thought I'd post these roughly shot videos, which were originally just for my personal archive, to show some of its possibilities. One of the main features of this module is that all these explorations can be saved and recalled using the 206 Preset Manager. Love this 254e!"
