MacBeth Studio Systems Website Update with Pricing & a New Video

micromac with dual sv filter - New X-Series micromac & Dual Filter Demo

YouTube Uploaded by macbethsynthesizers on Mar 25, 2012

"Here's a video [image posted here] that I've just done of the micromac prototype loaded into a 3U Eurorack housing- Featured with it is the MacBeth X-Series Dual SV Filter- they make an interesting match! At times there is plenty of 'ah yah ah yah ah yah' sounds! Two oscillators were taken from the micromac and plugged into the Dual SV- the Vortex prototype pvides us with LFO modulation here!
Apologies for the indistinct talking through this one- toothache!! has set in! Anyway- I hope you enjoy this pure analogue example of synth stuff!"

MacBeth Studio Systems micromac Introduction Video

micromac introduction.mpg video upload by macbethsynthesizers on Mar 2, 2012

"Here is a video tour of the up and coming MacBeth micromac! We get to see the front panel explained and also get to hear the sounds. NOTE this vid is just over a half hour in time- and sadly the software that I used to compress the file for upload contains one or to artifacts or 'aliases' It may come up as unwanted noise during the oscillator demo."

...inferno? by MacBeth

Published on Mar 6, 2013 macbethsynthesizers·77 videos

"Here's an experiment with a new flagship product prototype!...........inferno? 6 oscillators, interchangable filters, interchangable touch keyboard with real keys, 2 ring modulators, dual tape delay simulators and more! As said- it's a prototype- but fun to start with- a true stereo synthesizer!"

51/CVT EXPERIMENT by Ken MacBeth of MacBeth Synthesizers

Published on Apr 30, 2016 macbethsynthesizers

"This is a short piece of music/sound that I quickly did- just testing stuff really. 1 x Elements Synthesizer/ 1 x Prototype Synth Module with Elements Filter/ 1 x Kay Memory Rhythm Machine/ 1 x old GDR Autoharp....which is a very peculiar instrument. I have gone for the 1976 Krautrock/Bowie/Eno like sound here!"

MacBeth Synthesizers - maelstrom.avi

YouTube via macbethsynthesizers | November 19, 2010 | 1 likes, 0 dislikes

"Here is an oddity- Steve Jones and myself experimenting with the MacBeth Mk1 Modular pre-production units and the venrable M5N. The M5N on this vid was the last one in production and hence it resides here! Please exuse the beer glass that features in this vid! The start of the vid features my two favourite systems comprising of MacBeth Mk1 Modules played using two Korg Prophecies as controller keyboards- Steve almost does as much of a 'ham fisted' job of playing towards the end- just like myself! - but the sound is there =] The latter part of the vid is just chaotic experimentation but we see the Mk1 Analogue Keyboard controller put to some use!.....please enjoy- Ken M"

micromac sync with S&H and delay!

YouTube Uploaded by macbethsynthesizers on Mar 27, 2012

"I have been having a great time with the built in MIDI LFO that the micromac desktop units will have! I spent a good hour on the phone running through the Kenton Electronics design- and when I finally got off the phone- I couldn't help but record this experiment! Basically Oscillator 2 is sync'd to Oscillator 1. The Filter EG sweeps Osc 2 and I also sweep the Osc 2 Frequency. Oscillator 3 is providing the Filter Modulation...and the Kenton unit is providing the Sample and Hold....glad I grabbed it! It's just a massive sound....!"

MacBeth Mk1 VORTEX Keyboard (Protoype) + Korg CX3 + Ensoniq ASR-10 Demo 5

YouTube Uploaded by macbethsynthesizers on Dec 5, 2011

"I wrote a song into the the Ensoniq ASR-10 that I have- just piano and drums. So here is another prog feeling demo of the Mk1 VORTEX in situe. I'm pretty horrendous at keyboard playing- but playing manual keyboards is the only way to learn!"

A parts here.

MacBeth M5X(PROTO TEST 2)

Published on Apr 23, 2013 macbethsynthesizers·79 videos

"To give you a flavour of the 5 Oscillator/ 2 filter sound- I set up this on the M5X prototype. It's pretty massive with hints of spring line reverb and cross modulation from one of the VC Modulators modulating as well as being audio! It's a booming, massive sound!"

micromac-d with touch arpeggio and seq with NEXUS

Published on Dec 9, 2012 by macbethsynthesizers

"Here's an experiment that I did. I replaced one octave of touch keys that I'm working on on an old scrap SH101.....it works perfectly!....my next shot is to give the scrapper SH101 a full three octaves as opposed to the two and a half octave keybed. If this all works- the touch keyboard I'm going to do as a stand-alone will have this built is seq! The sequencer is driving the up and coming Micromac-D synthesizer and I also played here the prototype of the experimental NEXUS 1 analogue touch synthesizer!"

Paul Hartnoll Meets...!

Published on Dec 9, 2012

"Last Sunday, Paul Hartnoll from the great electronic band Orbital paid a visit for tea and a sandwich, and also to talk synths a play around with some new projects that I'm working on. Here we see him tweaking with the MacBeth NEXUS 1 prototype. All sounds are recorded to the camera mic, as opposed to the desk- so don't expect high quality. It was a fun day and I was a guest in the evening for a fantastic gig that featured the MacBeth M5N played by a master!"

MacBeth etherial screwdriver vibe!

Published on Jan 21, 2014 macbethsynthesizers·104 videos

"Here's me playing guitar with a screwdriver...the Elements One has an 'acidic' tone quality special to it's filter type- the diode ladder- and lends itself very well to sequencing! I always liked the Gong like sound, and Steve Hillage too...first practice, but fun!"

MacBeth Mk1 Test Setup Vid #1

YouTube via macbethsynthesizers — May 18, 2010 — "Here's a small sized video that I did of the MacBeth Mk1 Synth module prototypes that I have now set up- although the video is not the best quality- the sound went into the desk and then recorded! I'm using the pure analogue X-Series keyboard to play the stuff! Hope you enjoy...KM"

Elements with Korg SQ1 x 2

Published on Jan 26, 2016 macbethsynthesizers

"Here's a quick video demonstrating the Elements synth I made with two of the stupendously cheap, versatile Korg SQ1 sequencers...really the vid is just to show how we can have 3 Oscillators and the Filter sequenced under control voltage....as always, in the hands of a real musician....you will get a better result!"

elements last filter configuration...

Published on Aug 21, 2014 macbethsynthesizers

"So here is the last....it is the last, video of what will now be the Voltage Controlled Filter in the MacBeth Elements Synthesizer- here I give a short discussion/exploratory about nailing down that sound! Speed on further into the vid if the technical stuff gets boring! I try here to give a overview of how things were done! Roll on production.....at last!"

Cheap Crap and Bad. Pt3 of tHe BucKety series about going to a gym.

Published on Nov 18, 2015 macbethsynthesizers

"Many thanks to Ken Woody 'Ronson' Woodburn for the guitar and backing vocals on this extremely crummy track! All synths on this- MacBeth Elements! 24 hour play on this only...it's so bad."
