Casio FZ-20M / FZ Sampler Synthesizer

via this auction

"Though not as recognized as some other vintage instruments, this powerful synthesizer / sampler combination was quite something when it arrived on the scene back in '87 and to this day it has a few tricks up its sleeve that keep it totally unique. In addition to fully featured sample editing that can be described as ahead of its time, it also offers some serious sound design and synthesis tools - Additive synthesis, subtractive synthesis, hand drawn waveforms, and even a sample snapshot utility that generates a waveform from a sample for further synthesis. The FZ20M is the best equipped of the FZ series, offering 2mb of expanded memory and a SCSI port for interfacing with an external hard drive as standard. This auction is for a complete FZ-20M package in excellent condition and includes some hard to find accessories.

Included

1.) Two copies of the 'Additional / Optional Software' which adds the following functions:

> Hand Drawing – Allows you to literally 'draw' a waveform by setting values at 96 separate time intervals for a single waveform

> Sine Synthesis – Additive synthesis based on stacking sine waves

> Sample Cut – A type of waveform generation that allows you to take a snapshot of an existing sample and essentially use it as an oscillator for further synthesis

> Preset Waves – Subtractive synthesis waveforms including Saw / Pulse, Double Sine, Pulse, Square, Saw-tooth, and Random waveforms

> Loop + Fade Optimizers – Utility for creating smoothly looped samples and waveforms

> HDD Operator – SCSI hard disk utilities

2.) External vintage Apple SCSI Hard Drive with some samples already loaded, including a couple 808 hits.

3.) 3-4 floppy disks with a collection of instrumental, vocal, and random samples

4.) SCSI cable and SCSI Terminator for connecting the external Apple Hard Drive

5.) Original manual

6.) Standard IEC power cord"
