"Demonstration of the operational status of a Roland System 100 Model 101 monophonic synthesiser offered for sale in as-is condition to Australian buyers on eBay in November 2013."

via this auction

Pics of the inside below.

"An unmodified Roland System 100 Model 101 monophonic synthesiser in rough but mostly working condition. Manufactured around 1975, bought second-hand in about 1982, and then stored in a somewhat damp garden shed ever since. Internal 240V power supply with original Australian plug.

The cosmetic condition of the unit is poor, but it still works. For a 10 minute video made on 5th Nov 2013 demonstrating it working, see http://youtu.be/cFs5J9u_l64

Please examine the photos on this listing carefully, and note the following points carefully:
completely original condition, no modifications or additions
there is a lot of rust on the exterior, including rust under the enamel of sections of the control panel, and on all other exterior metal surfaces
inside there is much less rust, just a few small patches at the rear of the case
all the circuit boards, circuit components and wiring look fine, no obvious corrosion or degradation given that it is nearly 40 years old (see photos of PCBs)
several of the keys on the keyboard do not work - the top key doesn't trigger at all, and a few of the keys trigger the gate unreliably - the contacts probably just need cleaning
all the keys on the keyboard are intact and undamaged, and mechanically all the keys seem to work fine i.e. no broken springs or hinges
all the panel sliders (potentiometers) seem to work, although most of them are a bit stiff, and a few (filter resonance, LFO speed and portamento) seem to be a bit electrically noisy and/or jittery
all the panel rotary potentiometers work fine, although the main VCO frequency pot is very stiff (but not electrically noisy)
the VCO waveform selector switch is a bit unreliable when selecting the sawtooth waveform - it needs a wiggle to make it work sometimes
the high and low level main output sockets and the headphone socket (all of then 6.5mm) all work correctly
the 3.5mm socket modular jack points and the CV and gate input and output sockets (3.5mm) on the rear have not been tested but there is no reason to think they would not work (at worst the socket contact points may need a clean)
all sections of the synth circuitry appear to work correctly and reliably, subject to noisiness and jitter in some of the control pots noted above (see video on YouTube demonstrating this at http://youtu.be/cFs5J9u_l64 )
no manuals or documentation, but a full set of user manuals, patch cards, and the technical service manual are available at http://fa.utfs.org/diy/roland100/
series of photos showing how to service the control sliders can be found at http://fa.utfs.org/diy/roland100/system100_restoring/
the synth probably needs re-calibration, but all the trimpots are very readily accessible on the circuit boards (see photos) and calibration instructions can be found in the service manuals.
please do not open the lid on this synth unless it is switched off and unplugged from all mains power! The mains wiring inside is original, and reflects safety standards from 40 years ago. However, both the mains and DC sides of the power supply are fully protected by fuses. Nonetheless, use of a residual current detection (RCD) power safety device when using this synth is strongly recommended.
Overall, this synth looks rough but it mostly works, and could easily be restored to perfect working condition (although cosmetically it will never look very good). Due to the many patch points which use 3.5mm jacks, the 10V p-p signal and CV ranges, and the 1V/oct CV tracking (with external CV and gate in and out jacks), it should integrate easily with modern Eurorack module synths for someone who wanted the classic Roland modular synth sound. Alternatively, it could be a donor for spare parts to keep other System 100 Model 100s (or System 100 Model 102 expander modules, which use mostly identical circuit boards) operational."

Roland MC-202 synthesiser/sequencer SN 327200

"A Roland MC-202 monophonic synth/sequencer, unmodified and in completely original condition. One owner, bought about 1983, very little use, stored for most of its life. Comes with a non-standard power supply plug pack (9VDC 300mA) with an Australian plug. Everything appears to work: all synthesiser functions and controls work, all pots and sliders are smooth and not noisy, both LEDs and the internal beeper work, all keys function reliably. All sequencer and programming functions also appear to work. Did not test saving and restoring from cassette tape, nor DIN-sync, but no reason to think they would not work.

Please note the following carefully:
there is a small crack at the lower left corner of the case (see photo), but it is very minor
there is a very small amount of corrosion on the battery contact in the battery compartment (see photo), but there has been no battery leakage.
there is a dark patch at the upper left of the LCD - see photos, including photo with the unit powered off showing the dark patch. The dark patch does not obscure any information in the LCD display.
the LCD has very poor contrast when seen from directly above. When viewed from about 45 degrees (which is the normal working angle) it is perfectly legible (see photos)
some of the segments in the LCD display flicker slightly from time-to-time.
It is possible that the LCD is beginning to fail. However, it remains 100% usable as it is - the LCD is completely legible. The LCD unit is replaceable (see page 3 of the service manual available at http://www.dinsync.info/2010/02/roland-mc-202-service-manual.html ), it is not soldered to the PCB and can be readily replaced if a new LCD to suit can be obtained. Alternatively, this MC-202 would be perfect for the popular and well-documented CV and gate external jack modifications which bypass the sequencer CPU, if you just want to use the synth engine (which sounds great), or as a donor for spare parts to keep other MC-202s going.

No manual but a copy of the full manual is available for free at https://archive.org/details/synthmanual-roland-mc-202-owners-manual"

Serviced and Working ARP Avatar

"On auction / for sale is an ARP Avatar that's been serviced recently. The Avatar is sort of an ARP Odyssey without keyboard, that can be controlled with cv/gate and or a guitar. The guitar interface part is often missing from Avatars as the synth is mostly used with cv/gate. This particular Avatar has the guitar interface part intact. A newly made interface cable in included, as well as a foot pedal and the original manual + patchbook. As can be seen in the pictures.

What else should i say about the ARP ? It's a great synth with lovely vintage sound that can be modulated extensively.

The Avatar is in perfect working condition and looks great - please check the pictures..."

Restored ARP 2600 with Mods

"New and larger spring tank rever with lower noise circuits.
New power supply stable and accurate international power linear supply, currently, the AC input is hardwired for 230 volts.
Unit will operate with 220, 230 or 240 volts AC, but internal jumpering is possible for 110 operation.

The filter is an unmodified ARP 4012 design, (the MOOG FILTER).
The internal amps are modified for lower noise and faster slew rates.
1/4" output jacks, these jacks carry the left and right signals as provided by the output pan mixer, same as the 1/8" jacks below them.
The envelope generators have been modified. Lower offsets( output voltages when not being used) than stock. The AR gen has considerably fasters attacks
and added gate input not normally provided by Arp.
The ADSR has much faster decay and release times available than stock.
The gate button is a high reliability type ( used in Neve and Api consoles) and provides a larger surface and a softer feel tahn stock, in addition to lightning up with a gate signal.

COMPARATOR.
This circuit mod takes its input from the envelope follower input jack (not the EF output jack) and produces a very fast risetime gate for its output. This gate is dependent upon the level
of the ipunt signal and the setting of the threshold control (grey knob). The blue Led provides visual status operation.

LAG PROCESSOR.
This circuit has been modded so no offset voltages are present during usage. Can now be used for pitch voltages (glide) without tuning
problems when adjusted, can smooth out gate signals from the comparator gate output...etc.."
