via the listing: "Here we have a Roland RS505 Paraphonic Analogue Synthesiser dating from 1979, originally belonging to Howard Devoto, front man of the band Magazine. It then became the property of Magazine keyboard player, Dave Formula who used it in the band and later went on to use it on the first and second Visage albums.

I bought this off Dave in 2006 and he very kindly signed (large signature) one of the wooden end cheeks in thick gold sharpie pen. Im not posting the pic of the signature for fear of replication but i promise you, you wont be disappointed. I have played it a few times and it sounds wonderful and lush. Please check Youtube for examples. Due to lack of space, ive had it in safe dry storage for a few years and recently noticed that at some point the small Ensemble rocker lever must have unscrewed and I cant locate it so you would have to try and find a replacement switch.

Overall in pretty good shape for age.Built like a tank. No major scratches and no dents."

"Vermona Perfourmer MKII CV/Gate Edition - 4 Part Multitimbral / 4 Voice Polyphonic / 4 OSC Monophonic True Analog Rackmount Synth. Like New Condition with Original Box and both US and UK power cords. Having formerly owned a Korg MonoPoly I can say this reminds me so much of it but much more flexible. This edition has the CV/Gate controls in the back, plus full MIDI control. Can't say enough good things about this amazing synth..."

"The real deal, early version with the vicious Korg35 filter..."

For those wondering, the new KORG MS20 Mini filter is the KORG35 filter as well.

"used but excellent condition Maplin 3800 analogue synthesizer, these are now incredibly rare. This machine has just come out of service with a full bill of health after being fully calibrated and checked over by one of the best synth engineers in the UK. Physical condition is excellent aside from a few marks from use. As pictured some of the knob caps are missing, they will be replaced by the time the auction ends with a similar alternative, please not the colour may differ slightly from the originals, its pretty cheap to replace them all if you want a more universal finish. This machine wipes the floor sonically with similar sized machines from Roland/Moog/ARP partly due to the Transient Generator which are normally only found on modular synths The 3800 has some useful unique features including an external input which allows you to put other instruments through the synth and a multi-stage Transient Generator which is far more flexible than a standard ADSR type Envelope generator fitted on most other analogue synths. The Transient Generator has 7 controls; Start Level (+ & -), Delay 1, Slope 1, Hold Level (+ & -), Hold Delay, Slope 2, and Final Level (+ & -). This means that you can, for example, control the Filter to close off and then open up and close off again in one envelope cycle! I don't know of many other analogue synths that can do that other than the ETI and Maplin ones. The Filter is a 24dB per octave type, just like the Minimoog, so you can get all the classic Bass and Lead sounds from this synth. Features: •48 note monophonic keyboard •Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) •2 Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) with Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, Inverted Sawtooth, and Square Wave output. Square wave can be adjusted or controlled from the LFO or Transient Generator. •Pseudo random Noise generator controllable between white and pink noise. •Sample and Hold •24dB Voltage Controlled Filter (VCF) with variious control input capabilities. •Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA) which allows Ring Modulation. •1 Envelope Generator with 5 controls •1 Transient Generator with 7 controls •External input which allows external signals to be matched to the synth and also generate a Trigger pulse •5 Stage Graphic Equaliser •Built in Spring reverb..."

The following appears to come from the K3 Owners Manual.

"A New Approach toSound Synthesis

The Kawai K-3 synthesizer combines wave sampling technologywith true synthesis ability for a totally new approach to sound generation. ltstarts by constructing the waveform for a digital sound source from itsharmonic components. (There are 32 such waveforms built into the synthesizer, but you can program your own by assigning relative amplitudes for any 32 of thefirst 128 harmonics.) The audio signals from each oscillator are then combinedand passed through filters, LFOs, envelope generators, and other componentsusually found only in today's more advanced analog synthesizers.

Wave sampling yields very faithful reproduction of theoriginal because it produces a highly accurate description of sound produced bya piano, trombone, bass guitar, or any other instrument. The technology used, however, calls up a fixed sample and plays it back in a fashion not unlike atape recorder. Using such a fixed sound source sacrifices control over thearticulation, the way in which the sound varies over time after the musicianfirst strikes the key. Analog synthesizers, on the other hand, generallyprovide greater control over articulation and other parameters required toproduce a more "live" sound — only to lose sampling accuracy and theability to easily program the synthesizer to emulate an existing instrument. The Kawai K-3 synthesizer's digitally programmed sound sources give you thebest of both worlds: lifelike samples and complete control of articulation.

Other Features

The Kawai K-3 synthesizer has several other advancedfeatures as well:
· o Programmable velocity and aftertouch (pressure),that allow you to personalize keyboard response for each tone patch
· o Programmable stereo chorus and delay forcreating tone patches with realistic, studio quality effects
· o Weighted keyboard for a professional"feel" and accurate touch response
· o Slot for a removable memory cartridge, anexternal storage device which holds 50 additional tone patches
· o Advanced MIDI implementation including supportfor “system exclusive" messages which expand the control possible withthis world standard interface.
· o Analog and digital sound synthesis – the best ofboth worlds!"

Reverse Keys Roland SH-101 Synthesizer with Nova Mod

"1. The lower 7 keys are intermittently unresponsive likely due to dust accumulating as this is quite an old synth.
2. There is also a couple of screws missing from the base plate but the keyboard still hold together fine
3. The LFO speed fader does not change the lfo speed as far as i can tell now.

Otherwise everything else works really well but be warned it requires either a repair or someone who knows what they're doing to fix it.

NOVA MOD FEATURES:

• VCF FM: Amazing new sounds are now added through this feature. Six FM sources are
available.
• LFO Clock Input: Syncing the Arpeggiator and LFO to external drum modules and
sequencers is now possible. As well, interesting feedback loops can be created.
• PW Modulation Source Selection: Now you can choose a pulse width source. It is
independent from the LFO’s waveform setting. OSC sources are included.
• Pulse width to near 0%: Pulse width effects are now made more extreme and powerful.
• External Audio Input: The ability to do FM of the VCF by an external audio source or to
simply route a signal into the audio path is now provided. Don’t forget feedback loops!!
• VCF CV Input: Just plug in a foot pedal or a CV from a midi converter and your SH-101
will sing!
• LFO Rate Scalar: Ever hear a bell sound out of a 101? Try this on Hi!! Want a really slow
sweep...you got it too!
• 1/4” CV/Gate In/Out Jacks: Aren’t we all tired of those miniphono plugs? They should
only exist on walkmans"
