ReplyDeleteThis campaign sat at $116,500 for a long time, I doubt it exceeded that figure close to end.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this serves as a lesson those seeking crowd funding in the future: Have your shit together before even considering a campaign. If you don't have a prototype and a clear plan of what/how you are doing, I will not send you money. Also, if you can't handle building a campaign correctly (the whole flex funding thing, especially), or having clear ownership over the rights you say you have, it seems unlikely you will be able to produce a premium synthesizer. Saying you can put together this thing from scratch with no plan/staff/equipment in 6 months seems…um…ambitious. I'm no engineer but I reckon that this process is much more complicated than Legos. I understand tech people are not always marketing people, that's okay. Hire a marketing company to manage your campaign if you need big bucks. Otherwise you'll look very amateur.
