This is a primarily a game console, however I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone creates some synth oriented apps for it. Currently they state there are 1000s of indie games for it. The screen to the left and below allow you to edit the sounds in games. Note the wave forms in the top image and the tracker style editor in the bottom.  According to the site, the devices supports "4 CHANNEL CHIP BLERPS", or four note polyphony.
