"This collection of vintage synthesizers has grown with me for years. Most all of these instruments have been used on many projects, including VeggieTales, a variety of remixes, and many PlayStation video games and marketing and promotional discs. Most recently they were used on the Mass Effect Andromeda video games soundtrack. They have also been sampled and are part of the SoundVault Collection and the Kurzweil Analog Collection for the K2000 series samplers.
VEMIA note: to forestall many inquiries, The seller’s idea is that he wants to sell it as a whole. That may or may not work out in this auction. If it doesn’t, obviously he’ll be free to do whatever he wants after the auction finishes.

It all works. Everything has been kept in a clean, smoke-free, climate-controlled studio. I have always fixed things myself, so everything is operational and sounding great. I have repair notes on the synths that received attention, though most of them have worked great over the years, without much need for repairs. There are also several MIDI to CV converters so they can all be controlled by computer, plus cables if desired. And a few have cases and manuals.

ARP 2600 with lid but no keyboard. Pictured with broken slider and missing caps, but I believe I have them. ARP Odyssey (White) ARP Odyssey (Black & Gold) ARP Odyssey (Black & Orange) ARP Avatar (Original with pickup) (No original knobs, but early rubber caps if you want) ARP Avatar (CMS modded with patchpoints, filter, and envelope) (No original knobs, but early rubber caps if you want)

"Very rare “Special” edition of the Wasp in wooden cabinet, built in power supply and metal panel with gold lettering. Probably the rarest of all EDP products as likely less than 40 ever made. In good condition, and all working well. Note that there are three non original knobs (albeit very similar). 240V mains powered."

"Wasp synth with Kenton Pro Kadi Mkll midi trigger unit. Stone-cold classic mono synth with fabulously dirty bottom end if required. Comes with a trigger unit which allows it to receive such MIDI as it can handle (note on/off, volume?)

VEMIA note: Some minor wear to the keyboard, and a few flecks of white (paint?) on the back, but otherwise this looks in great condition - the notoriously fragile casing looks very solid, all knobs present & correct."

Serviced and Midi professionally installed.

The synth is fully functional - keyboard works correctly, all pots and switches are smooth and free of noise.

Cosmetic condition is outstanding, with only minor marks and blemishes. Its as clean as it looks in the photographs.

Comes with the original manual. Included is a separate power supply for the synth."

"Very hard to come by these days. Not getting easier. Only one listed in the USA that I’m aware of. Works like a charm still but for a slightly muffled speaker but let’s face it nobody is using that and instead going line out to an interface and recoding/adding FX. Simply a stunningly awesome vintage analog sound that a repro can‘t come close to nailing."

White Model Philips PMC 100 Synthesizer Composer SN 0033020 w/ Original Box & Manuals

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"From the designer of the SFX peripherals for the Commodore 64, came this curious little box — the Personal Media Composer (PMC) 100. It's got a Yamaha two-operator FM chip, a membrane keyboard (flat, but not capacitive like the EDP Wasp) and its most striking feature, the built-in cassette deck. This allowed you to save your compositions as either sound or data, or it could function as a Walkman or dictaphone. The PMC 100 came in black or (a much rarer) white.

The main voice is monophonic, with simple preset accompaniment rhythms (with 15 options for the rhythm's voice) controlled by the 'Gling' safe-note system. This heavily limits its potential as a solo instrument, not only because the beats are laughably thin but because the accompanying voices are fixed in their patterns.

There are 100 preset melody voices, mostly the standard Yamaha PortaSound two-op noises, but there's also a surprising amount of useable sound effects and slow, evolving (but moving in very obvious digital steps) pads. It's charming in its own incredibly lo-fi way.

The real area where it shines, though, is the step sequencer. It's visualized on an LCD screen in full stave notation with rock-steady tempo, adjustable to insane degrees! Notes can be edited in or out of the sequence at will. If this thing had MIDI out it would have become a cult classic.

Sadly, though, it was a flop in terms of sales. It's not that hard to understand why; even by the mid-eighties this thing would have been considered comical and there's little hope of understanding the architecture without a manual. Still, it's a great curio to have in any synth collection and can even be useful for some styles or when buried in a mix."

Original Novation BassStation Keyboard Synthesizer SN 0007531

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Before the famous Novation Bass Station Rack module came the small and portable Bass Station keyboard! This synthesizer uses digitally synchronized analog oscillators (DCO's) to reproduce the sounds of a monophonic dual-osc analog synthesizer with simple and intuitive controls via 17 knobs, 10 switches and 2 Moog-style pitch/mod wheels. Think EDP Wasp and ARP Odyssey. The Bass Station can faithfully reproduce analog bass sounds similar to a TB-303, Micromoog or Pro One synthesizer. The small keyboard and monophonic architecture set this keyboard up for strict bassline, lead synth lines, and synth fx. It also transmits MIDI continuous controller data from its pitch/mod wheels, frequency cutoff, resonance, filter modulation depth, env1 attack, decay and env2 attack and decay."

EDP Wasp Analogue Synthesizer + Noise Militia FX Wasp Filter

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

This appears to be the first post to feature Noise Militia FX.

"Made in UK between 1978-1981, here we have an ORIGINAL Wasp synthesizer in great condition. Only 3,000 ever made. EDP (Electronic Dream Plant) were creators of some great products at the time; star item being the OSCar synth. Chris Hugget went on to become involved with Novation, who are still around today, with British synths that hold their own with any other in the world eg Summit (KKGB have one in stock).

SOUNDS LIKE:- very capable synthesizer delivers a vast array of sounds. Its "additive synthesis", really...meaning you have to understand what is happening re the audio path. Having TWO oscillators is a huge bonus, with noise/sample & hold/glide all there for free.. It can sound pleasantly sweet (steady now...dont let music get in the way..), or devilishly wicked/weird and/or funky bass lines/screaming solo lines, and everything in-between. NO "snowflake/lazy boy" presets for you to get you started...oh, no...this is raw analogue at its smouldering best....

FREE gift >> WASP FILTER (Noise Militia FX) is included in the price. This device can be used with any synth, for wazzing delights and stuff (worth £199)."

"A rare and quirky machine for sure. Esoteric, sought-after (now!) and very much its own thing. This unit is in almost MINT condition. The distinctive design has helped make this a classic...dual oscillation and capacitive membrane keyboard! The sounds are a bit mad once you get your head around the operation. Works off 'C' batteries or a dc supply (9volt 1amp recommended)(I did have a psu but had to use it for another machine). Just come back from service by Kent Spong (keyboard tech genius). If you want a collectable - and/or some really interesting sounds to play - this is it. Comes with user manual/leaflet and a t-shirt!"

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

"Original EDP Wasp in great condition with MIDI installed.
Ready for delivery around May 20th.

The weird original poweradapter was stolen when i had a break-in (they stole a box of power adapters but left the synth!?) but I changed the socket to a standard one so it now works with any 9V DC positive tip <500mA."
