Extensive Korg Monotribe Mods Including Full Keys & Break Out Box

MT25d DIY Synth Making of the Monotribe Multiple Mod Feat Volca Keys

Published on Apr 23, 2014 Arrayzable·23 videos

"Here are some more pictures and video bits of the making of my DIY MT25d - Monotribe synth.
It features a new live played track called MONOFUNKALIZE with assistance from a very polyfunky sequenced Volca Keys. The Keys audio is going through the Monotribe filter, so the sound of the Volca Keys is only audible when notes are being played on the MT25d

I'm not all satisfied with the sound quality, so I'll have to look into my work method.

Have fun watching!

I have to point everyone to Splash BIT. He did an awesome Monotribe mod which is far more portable than mine. Check it out: http://youtu.be/n6Q56lGuXJk"

Volca Keys + Mt25d + microKORG XL + ESX-1 with Commodore 64 picture, 'Patos'

Published on Sep 2, 2014 Arrayzable

"I made a video some time ago featuring the Volca Keys with a 4 bar sequence.

http://youtu.be/dXE4Y7W9DRU?list=UUaT... 'KORGALICIOUS'

I wanted to re-use this sequence in a down tempo version. This is what came out of it.
Regarding the Monotribes sound I was inspired by Metatron's Cube's last video where unheard sounds emerged. I'm really satified with the Monotribe mod (MT25d) except for the clicks and the noise :D

Enjoy everybody and thanks for watching!"

Ambient Melodic Volca Bass & Keys 'Plenty' + MT25d + Commodore 64 scroll text + Electribe Sampler

Published on Dec 20, 2014 Arrayzable

"I'm exploring my Volca Bass, and this time in the setup that I bought it for. The Bass and Keys and the MT25d with the Electribe as the engine.

I got my Commodre 64 to scroll a text in an infinite loop.

As always live play with sequencers. No DAW. Recording done with the miniKP2.

I hope you'll enjoy it!

'Coffee' Electribe EA-1 with Volca Bass, Keys, Electribe ESX-1, MT25d Monotribe multimod

Published on Feb 23, 2015 Arrayzable

"Another 4 chord jam mostly consisting of sequences and some live play on the MT25d. The core of the track is the Electribe EA-1 that I bought used for a little less than a Volca. Pretty Lo-fi compaired to later Electribes, but great interface for making musical ideas come true! I'm really happy with the purchase!

I use the EA-1 as a bass sequencer here. It can go even lower than this but on my speaker system at home it sounds as the ESX-1 can go even lower - if you'd ever need that!

Used in this track:
Electribe EA-1
Volca Bass
Volca Keys
Electribe ESX-1
MT25d Monotribe multimod
Kaossilator
+ miniKP2 for recording

Go get the old Electribes!!! 'Coffee' will revive anything!!!!"

'Etos' Electribe, Volca Bass, Keys and MT25d

Published on Feb 11, 2015 Arrayzable

"The Electribe is playing a heavy bass with some midi-sequenced Volca Keys deep crunch on top. The Volca Bass is playing a high pitched sequenced loop. The microKORG XL is playing an arpeggiated pad and I'm playing the lead melody line on the MT25d and making a little 'piano'-loop on the Kaossilator on the fly.

Original track, sequenced and live play. No DAW involved. Recorded on Korg miniKP2

The 'work in progress' name of this track is 'Slow Shot' and refers to my thoughts on the Paris incident early this January: If all people where slower on the trigger (either metaphorical or actual) the world would be a different place. I named the track 'Etos' (ethos) which IMO covers my string of thoughts on the subject, and makes this the second track in my Patos, Etos, Logos track-trilogy. These three are commonly known as the means of persuasion but respectively also covers important parts of living. Here not just making something or someone seem credible, but actually be credible or maybe ethical if you will.

The video contains footage of my daily drive to work."

Minilogue and MiniPops 7 JAM (Arduino by Jan Ostman) Ambient track feat. MT25d Monotribe Multimod

Published on Mar 13, 2016 Arrayzable

"This is a piece of a jam I did the other night. I really love the long sequences the Minilogue can do. Ideal for some ambient noodling.
The red lunchbox contains an Arduino Pro Mini running Jan Ostman's MiniPops 7, O2 code. The midi sync out was made possible by Brikand. On my little built there are only knobs for tempo and pattern shift. I plan on adding drum mute buttons for increasing variations.
The Monotribe is always fun and very easy to make some cool sounds with.
As always live play with synths and sequencers.

Used in this track:

Minilogue
Monotribe multimod = MT25d
MiniPops 7 (arduino code by Jan Ostman, Midi implementation by Brikand)"

Berlin '89 -Celebration track- on Volca Keys + Electribe + MT25d

Published on Nov 8, 2014 Arrayzable

"November 9, 1989, 25 years ago. I was just a kid, but I remember how the news was well received - nobody thought this would ever happen. It was great news that marked the beginning of the reunion of Germany and eventual the end of the Cold War.

This track is based around a bassline on the Volca Keys sequenced by the Electribe ESX-1 (drums and everything else) and some impro soloing on the MT25d.

The YouTube avatar is a picture of my Electribe with a toy Trabant and some pieces of the Berlin Wall bought in Berlin in 1990 :)"

MT25d - NEW DIY Synth - Monotribe Multible Mod with Dedicated Keyboard

Published on Apr 9, 2014 Arrayzable·22 videos

"When I first got the Monotribe I was really blown away by how cool it sounded and I wanted more. I wanted to be able to exploit it further and the MIDI mod was a great solution. But with so many DIY projects it grew bigger and bigger.
I plan on doing a more in depth video of the process!"

MicroBRUTE SE - EA-1+ESX-1+Volca Bass & Keys + MT25d Monotribe mod - 'Space'

Published on Mar 27, 2015 Arrayzable

"My new blue Microbrute SE is the star of this little track.
The EA-1 is also playing a vital role providing both the bass line and the sequence in the beginning and troughout the track.

I knew there was 50 ways to make the Microbrute sound nasty and dirty, so I was eager to find out if I could make it sound soft and beautiful.

Most things are explained in the video!

I hope you enjoy!"

Volca Keys Acid 'Acidious Dorianski at the Volca River' KP3, Electribe + MT25d (Monotribe multimod)

Published on Oct 29, 2014 Arrayzable

"A little track that I have been been playing for a little while now.
On advice from 'Neon Horn' I have tried to vary the drums a little more than in my last couple of tracks.
On advice from 'The Phantoms Guest' I have tried exploiting this new modern thing called STEREO a bit more :D

Personally I enjoy playing this track very much - I hope you'll enjoy listening to it!

As always one take live session - No DAW.
This track was recorded on the miniKP2

Dedicated to my wife who puts up with my constant synth music playing and reading Jules Verne books!

Graphics and blinking colours on the television screen in the back ground is all by me and my awesome BASIC V2 programming skills on my Commodore 64 :D"
