"Ultimate Percussion K2-X Analog Synthesizer System
8 Channel drum/synth with built in sequencer.

Nice analogue drum module. Very different to Simmons and Tama units. Has 8 individual channels/sounds. Can be triggered by a CV sequencer or other drum triggers (not included). Each channel/sound has its own input trigger and individual output. It also has a stereo output. There is a stereo EQ for the output also. The onboard preset sequencer is very basic, not programmable, just has a few preset sequences that can play. The Ultimate Percussion K2-X is a very unit, I have two of them, the one I am selling is the same as the one in the pictures. There's a link to a youtube video I made a while back testing it with a 707 as the trigger. Not a great deal of info around about this one, a few of them pop up on matrix synth from time to time.

Pros, good bass, really nice white noise and pure analogue snares and hat type sounds. Toms are what you would expect from an analogue drum module. Used by PLAID (apparently)
Cons, it's very green. It's big.

Good condition. It's a vintage unit so comes with a few bumps and scratches here and there but overall is in great condition. Looks good. All the knobs have their caps.

This is a rare monster of a drum synth - Good luck ever seeing one of these guys again.
This UP K2-X sounds big, warm, punnchy and tough, works great and its built like a tank! All metal.
Used by Warp Records artists Plaid - in this link you can see it in their studio.
Have a listen to them to get a vibe of the sound of this.
8 trigger inputs
Individual outputs + stereo main outputs and headphone output
One special Bass drum channel
One special Snare channel
Six completely tuneable oscillator synth channels
All channels have these controls - Level, Pan, Trigger Sensitivity, Decay, Bite, Noise Filter, Noise + VCO mix, VCO pitch and VCO Sweep
All channels have Pulse button - Pulse generates an in temp trigger, good to get you tweaking right away
All channels have Preset Mode button - allows two different sound settings
Physical condition - As you can see in the photos some knobs are missing their caps and some caps are attached but need a little glue to keep them from spnning. There is one missing led light but everything functions and all knobs are clean. Marks and scratches visible in photos. Nothing major. Youll see some tape on the bottom also, you can just take that off though.

"If you aren’t familiar, the K2-X is a drum synth—and sounds similar to the Simmons SDSV, just...greener and flatter 🤣 It can be triggered via drum pads or other drum machines (or something like the Arturia Beatstep Pro) via the trigger inputs.


The machine itself does have some wear. Some of the knob caps are missing (which may be replaceable I’ve just never looked into it) and two of the bottom trigger buttons are missing...though they’re still functional. All 8 voices are functional, though, and sound incredible!"

"The item has 8 drum channels - 6 tom (i think they are toms anyway!), bass and snare.

Each channel has its own input and output and there are general outputs for left, right and phones. Each channel has a factory sound plus a user controlled manual sound via the following controls -

Level
Pan
Sensitivity
Decay
Bite
Noise Filter
Noise/VCO balance
VCO Pitch
VCO Sweep

In addition it has 6 inbuilt rhythms with speed control, which it proudly calls, the "Micro Sequencer"

Overall, the sounds are not as good as the Simmons SDSV, but this is still a very interesting piece of kit, lots of pigeon street sounds and opportunities for early 80's analogue sounds.

The item is quite large and heavy..."

"8 synth channels (think simmons) with in/out for triggers and individual channel mixing, a mixing section for stereo outs, bass, treble and mid adjustment and a built in very basic sequencer pre-programmed rhythm which you can adjust to the tempo to. Individual channel triggers. I have used my ddrum4 pads to trigger this unit and they all work as do the outs. Sounds Huge.

"8 channel drum synth from the 80s. All 8 channels have their own audio outputs/trigger inputs which can also be triggered from audio sources. Stereo and headphones outputs as well as a basic left/right mixer. Each channel has a button with a ‘preset’ sound which bypasses all parameters when pressed. Also has a very basic sequencer with a few preset patterns as well as a gate trigger switch for each channel. German made if I’m not mistaken. All channels and knobs in working order. Does not have MIDI. It has a European power supply, will require a step up/down a converter if you’re in the US. Not a whole lot of info about this one, it’s got a big punchy sound I was always quite fond of, but I’m downsizing for studio space."
