Via this post on Moogulator:
"this is new for Musikmesse 2006 - Emulation of the ARP Odyssey (II, the black one with golden lettering - the 24 dB/Oct. Filter modell - so they chose the best sounding model), all ASB (authentic sound box) series synths are usb controlled (software). but it also works standalone. alternatively minimax (minimoog) filter mode and 12 voices. more see tech. the pic was given to me exclusively as the first pic internationally available (thanks for the pic).. so sooner or later other sites might put it up, too.."
You better beleive it. : ) Nice one Moogulator!
It's great to see Creamware expanding their linke of ASB boxes. They're not cheap, but they offer a great hands-on experience.
ReplyDeleteBesides, they're in a bit of a bind with their card-based Scope systems -- it's now possible to buy a used Scope Project card for under $400, which must be making it a bit difficult for them to sell new cards at $699 a pop.
An Odyssey.... dang. I was sort of hoping for the Waldorf Wave emulator that had been speculated about.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't think it would have fit into the AFB sized box...
On the other hand, maybe the rumors of Waldorf's reincarnation will come true.
For a second I thought, "ah, that's right!" But then I remembered that what I was thinking about was actually the OB clone from GMedia. Wonder if that will show in the Messe.
ReplyDeleteThe interface is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSlider heaven.
So glad they made this.
- a wave 2.3 (in blue) sure would be a nice addition to the ASB line.
Then maybe an Oberheim.
Old interfaces = no learning curve (for many of us).
-which is quite nice. =)
