Synthmaster
Trip. When I had severe GAS (Gear Aquisition Syndrome), I used to have these dreams where I'd walk into a pawn shop and see all these bizarre and obscure synths. Sometimes they were rare models of Oberheims and Rolands, etc, but usually they were obscure synths from manufacturers I've never seen before. Right before I was waking from the dream, I'd think if I only grab one I might be able to take it to the other side. : ) If you ever had dreams like this you probably know what I'm talking about.
Well, when I saw the Synthmaster post on sequencer.de, I had that same feeling, like I just walked into a pawn shop of obscure synths in dream land. There are a ton of bizarre and obscure synths I've never seen or heard of before. Looks like he brought them over from the other side. Click here for more.

MAN, i HAVE THIS DREAM OF DRIVING OUT TO THIS LITTLE COUNTRY GENERAL STORE AND THERE ARE ALL SORTS OF STRANGE AND WONDERFUL ELECTRIC STRINGED INSTRUMENTS JUST LINING THE WALLS~ sigh!!!
ReplyDeletei often dream about imaginary synths too! the most prophetic of these dreams was one i had way back in the mid to late 90s, about a club gig where i was using a bunch of strangely interconnected (think lego or bristle blocks) very brightly colored modules...
ReplyDeletea few years later, this is what i had in my live rig:

Anyway, regarding this post, it's nice to see some dream machines actually exist!
NO WAY!
ReplyDeleteI too have a recurring lucid dream about a pawn shop that has this crazy crazy synth in it, and a 'huge back room' (warehouse sized) of lots of goofy things that are, for some reason not in the front showroom.
Also, everything in this pawn shop is about 90 dollars.
I love the *smell* of the pawn shop in my dreams. It smells like circuit boards.
awesome post -
ReplyDeleteNever seen some of the synths before :)
A SQ1 is currently on the australian bay btw.
jesus! this is rare synth porn galore.
ReplyDeleteCheck out his full collection:

My body started shivering while reading the list and from now on i will just dream what it would be like spending a full week in a room with THAT collection-
i have already visions of
sampling the output of a Thomas Synthi 1055 with the Lyre FDSS Studio Resynthesizer and jamming with the Donca Matic Rockmate.
My obsession has gained new focus. Thank you oh, synthmaster.
(still a bit shaky) Mike
