Yamaha CS01

One day I will find one of these at a garage/tag sale...

Title link takes you to shots pulled via this auction.

Check out this description:
"VINTAGE YAMAHA CS-01 CS01 ANALOG SYSNTHESIZER SYNTH .POWER UP BUT SELLING AS/IS I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT . WHEN I PLAY A KEY IT JUST KEEP BUZZING I DONT KNOW WHY .PLEASE LOOK AT PIC FOR MORE INFO."

Someone is about to either get really lucky or really disappointed. It reminds me of a Sequential Circuits I picked up from the Local Guitar Center a few years back for $125 because of a stuck note. I opened it up, bent the j-wire back into position and was good to go. They said their tech couldn't figure it out. : )

  1. The last comment was funny. It's just like technicians in our civil sectors (the theatre techs are more trained). The techs running the theatre in the museum was a security guard and he did not know how to use auxiliaries... :S

I will be trying red cross association to see if I can find any vintage synths woohoo

  3. i wish i could come up with sk-1s. all i ever find are the "made in china" keyboards. oh and gameboys with unreparably broken buttons

  4. actually...! i just picked one of these up, new-in-box, at a garage sale this morning for $50! the cs01-ii was my first synth, got it around 20 years ago, still have it, and have been using it alot lately. since i had it modded w/ cv/gate inputs, it can't run on batteries anymore, so it's nice to have another now with the battery compartment intact. although the resonance switch definitely sucks in comparison to the slider on the mk-ii model...
