  1. Coupla errors in this one... it's an OB-Xa being used in "Jump" (at least as the video prop.....) and the Arp 2500 (not 2600) featured in Close Encounters...

Shit, I figured everybody knew this...

  2. Well, I actually do like the series a lot... the editing, interviewees, and humor are all really great. Some nifty old footage they've dug up, too. For all that I can forgive a few flubs from the research department.....

  3. They have had some mighty big flubs though....such as calling the Mellotron a synth and stating that the Juno was the first programmable polysynth. That coupled with the latest mistakes will make this series a source of disinformation for many years to come. I hope they go back and fix everything.

  4. "I like the Virus cause it has great patches that I never have to change"

Give me a break!!! Did 12 year old boys snorting speed vote for this?

  5. How much longer are they going to drag this out? It's almost painful to watch... and it keeps getting worse.

  6. I think the first video had the best synths.

  7. Mr. Array is right, this series SUCKS.

Not that I could make it any better, it's just that the topic is personal taste. Don't go calling it "The Top Ten Synths of All time", call it "Sonic State's Top Ten Favorite Synths".

And for God's sake, do some damn research, errors are NOT tolerated in a "documentary".

  8. Wouldn't it be great if they:

    (a) Introduced an instrument
    (b) Demonstrated how it sounds and some of its unique (or not so unique) features.
    (c) Interviewed someone who either had something to do with the design or used it to record something memorable.

As it is, their videos basically boils down to a twerpy voice declaring, "And at Number 6, the Solina String Machine Plus!" followed by a grainy picture and a generic bed of awful background music.

  9. I just came in here to complain about the factual errors again, but I see dave has me covered.

  10. He says Solus; they show a Soloist.
    WTF?

  11. don't you guys read the text page on Sonic that goes along with this show? They cover all this. You're really missing out.

  12. Why did they show a dmx voice card schematic while talking about the ob-xa?
    Still a nice series though

  13. If you watch the version of the show on Sonic, all these so-called errors you've pointed out are covered either on the show or in the text. You must be watching the wrong version or something.
