Andromeda A6 Demo

"This song was made 100% with the Alesis A6 Andromeda analog synthesizer, including drums, multitracked. No other sound source was used. Delay and compressor was used, but no EQ. It´s fully inspired by the Pete Heller remix of Faithless´s "Music Matters". It was made to show the tremendous A6 capabilities."

via Juno6. Be sure to check out Juno6's public channel.

What amazes me about this track is just how versatile the A6 is when it comes to character. Many synths like the Nord Lead, Roland Junos and others have a certain specific sonic palate about them. The A6 on the other hand is like a chameleon. It isn't limited to one type of character. Every time I listen to it I discover something new, something I didn't think it was capable off. This track does a good job at showing how clean the A6 can sound. Most of the patches I've been creating with my A6 have been much more fuzzy and bold. Looks like I need to start cleaning it up a bit.

  1. Great demo! Personally I love my A6. I get the feeling they're under appreciated when they really are a total beast, and very unlike other Alesis gear. Perhaps the name was a turn off. But who else is making polyphonic analog synths these days. Now if they'd only make a 3 octave compact version.

  2. It sounds nice indeed, the reason they're under appreciated is that they look really really ugly.

  4. Beauty must truely be in the eye of the beholder, because I think they look awesome. Oh well.

  5. Actually, 'anti-magic-rays' are in the eyes of the beholder. Also, 'freeze rays', 'disintegration beams', 'rays of enfeeblement', and more.

    Beholders rock!
