does the interntal/external switch for the frequency disable the knob even as an offset when in the external position? it looks like one switch is in the middle position, is this for both functions? are they SPDT or DPDT? just thinking out loud :)
hi. yes. when in external position , the big knob is disabled. it would be nice if it would sum the two inputs. the one switch in not in the middle , it just looks that way...old stuff....

ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to sum the two, but it would also be nice to scale the CV input as well, which is where the 156 processor comes to the rescue.
ReplyDeleteThe 258 made life a lot easier with onboard mixing, scaling, inversion and, of course, the summed frequency knob.
true...i usually always leave the the switches up (external) and use the processor...the big knobs look cool , but dont get used much :(
ReplyDeleteWe should have 16000 Buchla oscillators, each tuned to a distinct frequency, and some sort of ultra-mixer to select different frequencies.
