  2. Awesome! I started getting those catalogs around that time, and I'd spend HOURS sitting in my room picking out all the stuff I was going to buy when I got rich. Of course, I'd need more information than what was available in the catalog, so I'd bust out my parents' typewriter and write letters requesting brochures from Roland, Yamaha, etc. Six to eight weeks later, that sweet, sweet envelope wold b waiting for m when I got home from school. Those were the days.

I have yet to get rich, but at least I've been able to afford some cool synths.

  3. Ah, the MT-40, my first synth. Even brand new, it was clear that it was meant as a toy, so it's not surprising that it's the least expensive of the bunch (although it was fully polyphonic). What surprises me actually is that you could get what is now considered to be a respectable small pro-level mono-synth for only twice the price.

To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.
