"Yesterday I decided to record a little line on the Vako Orchestron. While I was recording it I decided to walk you through the Optical organs at the Roth Händle studio. For more info, bookings and blogness please visit www.roth-handle.nu"

  1. I used to have a an Optigan - it was a blast! If only there was a way to make your own disks.... So when will we be able to hear the final fruits of this collaboration? I think you mentioned it once - but I'm not sure. I've enjoyed seeing your examples of sound design!

  2. Thank you for watching...The way it works is that artists send my files usually a mix with a click track and then I mumble around doing treatments and overdubs and then I send the files back and then people can sit and pick and choose...

Their versions and mixes will without doubt be different from what I envision with the overdubs but that is the way it works. I do full productions as well in the studio where I have the final say on it all so it is also kind of liberating not having to hang around to the bitter end...How loud should the Orchestron be ?

And yes the Optigan is terribly cool but I probably wouldn't want to make my own discs....I have had ideas for Mellotron sounds but...nah. I like the sound of dead people.
