I MUST know his source? Anybody else know anything about where to find a new Wavestation backlight? And if those VF panels posted here a few months ago are a possibility?
AAAArg! The backlight on my own WS-EX, which I love, is whistling, and it's driving me mad.
There are 3 sources into the operation description on Flickr : - Telesis (USA) backlights.telesisgear.com/ - Backlight4you (germany) www.backlight4you.com/ - Midi-Rakete (germany) www.midi-rakete.de/
...not very diffult to do...? Well, you've got to have the confidence to completely dismantle your synth, unplugging a lot of wires and removing several circuit boards. I managed the one in my Kurzweil K2000, but this was beyond me...

you can get new backlight panels from many places. Some places target the synthesizer market like this one..

It's not very difficult to do. The wavestation is notorious, I had to do mine about 10 years ago.
