why do most people with modulars not make tonal music?

ReplyDeleteWell, I do like tonal music as well as textural stuff, but the video was shot while I was trying to demo some of the more interesting aspects of the system. In order to do "tonal" on a modular it takes a bit of time to set up and tune a patch. It can be easily done but just takes more time. The patches that I was demonstrating were "quick and dirties" hence the "buggish" aspect. I've met plenty of folks with large modulars that do tonal pieces BTW.
