pretty cool for an iphone app, but like most I've seen, these are really more in the toy domain.
ReplyDeleteI've yet to see an iphone app that really takes advantage things unique to the iphone to do something interesting. Most of these apps are better done in software or existing physical hardware. (I know, the first thing people will say is that, well, now you can do it on your phone!) That said, it's pretty amazing for a phone. Less so as an instrument.
Best thing about this demo was the xy pad tweaking and automation. Also wasn't clear on what kind of synthesis was going on. I imagine some of that was sample playback. fwiw.
