making music with pro53
YouTube via feelda303
"somebody said the other day that NI pro53 is sh*t... it's not... i made a little demo with only pro53 playing and it's typical pluck synth sound... for some reason the video has been converted to 4:3 ratio, but what the hell..."

That's a nice arrangement. If you were to get your sound going that would elevate you from the rest. What I mean is you know your midi good enough, know start finding your own sound.
ReplyDeleteIt's not that pro53 is bad., in fact it can sound pretty good. It's just that it doesn't really sound close enough to Prophet 5 to count as a good simulation. (compared to the arturia) Because it's marketed as a Prophet 5 clone, it's hard for some to look past this.
ReplyDeleteAlso, when compared to the other NI synths, it's the weakest link.
Pro-53 was one of the first decent softsynths. That also means it's sort of uninteresting by today's standards.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound particularly "analog" - I am not sure what "modeling" technology (if any) was used on the oscillators and filters - and like many NI products suffers from a too-small UI.
I find the presets tend to rely too much on the delay.
That said, it's a fine way to learn the basics of synthesis - but you could get Synth1 for free and it is just as good or better.
