Native Instruments The Finger vs Richard Devine

Native Instruments The Finger vs Richard Devine from Richard Devine on Vimeo.

"Here is a little experiment I tried using Tim Exile's new Finger Plug-in with Logic 9. I was running some of my drums on a track in Logic's Flex mode, slightly drawing in graphic tempo changes, and automating all the parameter twist knobs drastically, while programming every MIDI parameter I could assign on the piano roll editor, Doing more then my two hands could do=) Just letting it all go crazy. Some strange interesting results indeed. =)"

  1. Could someone help me out with the usage of "vs?" I know what versus means traditionally (vide supra: against or in opposition to), but I don't know what it means in the context of music in the last few years. This video appears to be by Richard Devine and it's labeled "vs Richard Devine." I have an mp3 of a mash-up of Strangelove and Bizarre Love Triangle in which the artist is listed as "Depeche Mode vs New Order." I've also seen remixes listed as being by remixer vs original artist.

So does vs now vaguely mean something between "with," "by," and "featuring?" Pardon me for being such a geek (even amoung all you synth geeks), and I swear I'm not a grumpy old man. Thanks!
