  1. Ah - when I toured with them (Moon Safari, Virgin Suicides) they refused to use samples. No sampled piano or strings or anything. It's changed now, they have even gone back to using vocoders, which was done for a while.

  2. I saw them a few years ago not really knowing much about them at the time and only going because the ticket was free (I'm of a more experimental bent). Ended up being one of the best shows I've seen. So well paced with great musicianship. Would see them again in a heartbeat. Added bonus = their were more girls than guys at the show <3

  3. Note: on the second pic, the synth technician is (re)patching the MS-20. He did this surprisingly fast between all songs.

Does anyone know whether these are the same Sources, MS-20, Solina etc they use at studio, or maybe they have dedicated live gear?

  4. These are the same keyboards they used in the studio - they might have spare ones now, but always toured with what they had used.

BTW - that photo set is amazing! I can't wait to see the shows here...

  5. For the Talkie Walkie tour, I was lucky enough to check out their synths and whatnot. The sound guys said they didn't use any MIDI, except for the keytar controller, and traveled with two of every synth.
