Paul Shaffer's Letterman Rig
via http://keyboardmag.com. via Tiago Prado
He still has his Oberheim OB-Xa - it comes in at 10:34 followed by the Moog Voyager and more.
The Kurzweil is mentioned a bit along with the Hammond organ in the beginning.
It looks like the Roland JD-800 is gone, possibly replaced with the Fantom.

I love the fact that Paul is still rockin his K250. :)
ReplyDeletedude, he is wasted.
ReplyDeletealso, so THAT is where those terrible horn sounds come from. Jesus that is awful .
ReplyDeletei thought that was a really fun little interview! nice of him to take time and show the gear.
ReplyDeleteDude, I don't think he's high, I think that's just the effects of time - the guy just turned 60 last month.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Shaffer wasn't on drugs, but the reviewer appeared to be on speed. He kept interrupting, trying to zoom onto the next topic...relax, dude!
ReplyDeleteWow,that was really hard to listen to.The interviewer seems like one of those kinds of people that try to dominate a conversation. He says "yea" after everything Paul says.It doesnt sound like the interviewer was even listening, just thinking about what to say next.
ReplyDeleteHahaha,I see another person thought the same thing about the interviewer.Yes,it does seem like the guy is on speed or railed a fat line of coke before talking to commencing the interview.
Its funny to because there is such a contrast between the way the interviewer talks and the way Paul talks.
Pretty cool interview nonetheless.
The interviewer is most likely speedy because famous people like Paul Shaffer don't have a lot of time to do interviews, so he's probably trying to squeeze as much out of the interview as possible. And yes Paul seems either very tired or very doped up.
