Am To Be Part 4 - modular synth improv

YouTube via doctorvague — April 16, 2010 — "A little noisier one this time. I left the dynamics in so low parts are actually quieter and loud notes are louder. It's this new thing I just figured out. Using an Akai APC40 below camera firing Numerology presets created previously to a MOTM 650 Midi2CV converter for pitch. For triggers MOTU Volta to a DIY switcher upper right supplying different division rhythmic triggers to a Moon Modular trigger sequencer and a Modcan Digital delay. MegaOhm Delta Filter, Synthesizers.com State Variable Filter and MOTM 440 filter. Encore Electronics UEG, Synthesizers.com oscillators, envelope generators, mixer, VCA etc. Lots of partial cross-mod and partial soft-sync between the oscillators to get it to balance between notes and noise. Synthesizers.com excel at that stuff, especially the soft sync on the oscillator aid."

  1. Sounds great as always, Doc. How do you achieve the "partial cross-mod and soft-sync"? Through VCAs?
