My FFT test in Processing

YouTube via zambari — May 27, 2010 — "I've started to learn processing, an obvious first step is drawing some spectrogram-like stuff. Biggest issue here was finding a right balance between time-resolution/latency - for which you need to keep the buffer size small, and frequency resolution, especially in the low-end where you need big buffers. I ended up averaging results from one 512 sample and one 8192 sample buffers.
Then there was some fun working out a method to display it logarithmically and some optimisation tricks. Audio is played live on Kork Electribe run through sherman filterbank (distortion at the end) http://processing.org

framerate is a bit better when not capturing video at the same time"
