Roland Juno-106 with Blue LEDs, Display and Bender

via this auction

"The first "BLUE MEANIE MOD" from the Synth Spa. This Juno 106 is in perfect working order and the voice chips are guaranteed for as long as you own the board! Yes the voice and wave chips have been completely restored. This is an auction for an actual working keyboard, it is not a sale for a modification, it's the whole shaaa-bang.! I should also stress that the body and cosmetics of the keyboard are 10 / 10!

Here are some finer details;

- All light blue buttons and fader caps are now dark blue.
- The side rails are now solid maple , the first, professionally painted to match the new faders and caps. The second is natural solid maple with a unique design.
- This particular design is patent-pending, with it's own serial number. You'll receive a certificate of owner ship.
- The bender is now a semi-transparent blue plexi-glass bender, with blue leds shining from below.
- The older volume and pornamento control knobs have been replaced with knobs that fit the design; blue caps and a white stripe down the side.

It is a work of ART. The stage effect is beautiful. A head turner for sure! and it's a lot of fun!"

  1. Hate the look - looks unfinished and awkward. At least remove the original end bells and completely replace them with wood - just capping them looks amateurish - especially as light-colored as they are. Looks out of place.

  2. I bet those blue LEDs are blinding in the dark. I love my still fully functioning factory 106.

    I bet you're right - there's nothing more annoying than being blinded to the point of not being able to make out the labeling in a live situation - not to mention the eye fatigue they would cause in a programming situation.

    I do see (after properly reading the post) that the plastic on the bells/cheeks is gone, but at least keep ONE color on them and one that compliments the synth's color scheme. The pale maple just looks unfinished and it's beauty is lost on something like this. A stained walnut might be a better look.

  5. Oh my, you are absolutely right. Thanks for the honest opinion on that one. A lot has changed since those old photos. I also have a low lumens version where the LEDS match the MCD value of the original red. Still different colors, just not as bright! Some people like the brightness.

    That first design reminded me of a little east european hotel I stayed in with all of the blond finished wood. But you are right, Cherry and walnut look much better. New and better designs are listed on ebay and the website is coming soon!-Synth Spa
