Custom Case x0xb0x

via this auction

Let me first say thanks to the geniuses at adafruit industries in the mighty USA for all there hard work in producing such a fantastic bass machine and there generosity in releasing it as open source. Please take the time to visit their web site and look at there awesome products. Also I would like to thank the Very clever guy who wrote sokkOS Your firmware rocks man!

So why should you buy a x0xb0x from me?
1 Each x0xb0x is hand built by myself and Pickle ( my wife ) here in sunny Sandy Bedfordshire England.

2 All the parts are NEW or NOS not removed and cleaned second hand shite.

3 All the parts are as specified by adafruit and Roland ( I have the Roland UK's official service engineers service manual )
The transistors the caps the IC's the FET's are all as per the original 303 manual ( Except the BA662a which is replaced with BA6110 )
Please note that i use the adafruit PCB as specified this is not a modified version to make the build cheaper or quicker.
All parts are sourced as per adafruit recommended suppliers ( Mouser RS Farnell Digikey )

4 All the critical parts are tested before they go in the x0xb0x I test everything to make sure it sounds and performs as it should.

5 I match all the transistors in the VCF ( I have been building Moog filters for years it does make a difference )

6 I match the 4 transistors in the current mirror of the VCA this reduces the GM thump that sometimes can be heard.

7 I use high gain 2SA733's for Q9 & Q10 with at least 350 beta and and Q8 at least 345 beta. 2SC536's for all NPN's

8 Q11 is 945p as per the clever guy Alex ( sounds more metallic )

9 Attention to detail Allen key screws are stainless steel Knobs have x0x engraved on each one Sweet graphics.

10 On / Off switch on rear panel UK ships with 9VAC PSU sorry you will have to source your own PSU non UK Buyer.
I am happy to send the standard PSU as you may have a transformer for other kit.

11 Case has been made approx 30mm wider on each side so there is room if you want to modify this bad boy.

12 Case is custom design not the standard plastic item everyone else uses.
Machined side cheeks made from 10mm thick extrusion.
2mm grove is then machined so that the case sits neatly inside.

13 I have my own x0x which i tuned and calibrated to my mate Matts 303 it sounds so close to his 303 that when doing a blind test he was only correct 50% of the time identifying which was which I think he was Guessing anyway :-)

This unit can be supplied with the latest sokkOS firmware V1.9.1 or the original adafruit V1.05
Please advise when you place the order. At the moment sokkOS is in there.
When i carry out my testing i check that i can bootload between the 2 OS's and upload through the control software. Proving the bootloader is included so if you want to upload other firmwares the code is there to do it.

I will include a printed manual that i have taken from the adafruit web site on using the x0xb0x and a copy of the sokkOS firmware revisions i have found on the forums written by the genius who wrote the firmware.

This little fella has White LED's Black anodized control knobs and side cheeks with the main case anodized Black.

Or in other words it's an all Black x0x and it looks awesome."
