"MIDIProtocolTester is a FREE tool to help you assess if your DAW, USB MIDI Class compliant device and CoreMIDI compliant iPad MIDI interface are compatible with iControlMIDI.
MIDIProtocolTester is based on the same code as all our iControlMIDI iPad editors.
If MIDIProtocolTester works for you, there are 99% chances that our iPad editors will work with your DAW, USB MIDI Class compliant device and CoreMIDI compliant iPad MIDI interface.
We had and will qualify some hardware with iControlMIDI iPad editors, but we cannot qualify every single ones.
MIDIProtocolTester will send:
• MIDI Control Change parameter - CC (Volume to 127)
• MIDI Non Registered Parameter Number – NRPN (Prophet VS Filter Cutoff to 127)
• MIDI System Exclusive parameter - Sysex (MKS-50 Filter Cutoff to 127)
…on the MIDI channel you have selected.
We have listed the iControlMIDI MIDI Protocol(s) used for a given editor on the FAQ page (FAQ #12).
So you can check if your favorite software and hardware can:
• Route (MIDI In to MIDI Out)
• Pass-through (MIDI Thru)
• Record
• Play
…those messages.
There are tools to help you monitor MIDI activity on your Mac or PC. We encourage you to use them."
