Propellerheads Rack Extension Developer Interview
YouTube Uploaded by sonicstate on Mar 27, 2012
"One of the big pieces of news from MESSE was not actually at the show. The night before it all kicked off, Propellerheads had a press event at a rather stylish hotel in the centre of Frankfurt, where they unveiled Figure - the iOS application with Reason synth engines, and the new Reason Rack Extension plug-in format. This is opened up to developers and they say its as easy it can be to port over existing plugs and instruments (though it helps if they have a rack-like GUI).
To test this theory, we caught up with Magnus Lidstrom from SonicCharge (they make the excellent Synplant instrument) who converted his BitSpeak plug-in to the new format in time for the demo. [Magnus Lidstrom also created the Malstrom graintable synth]
Reason Rack Extensions are coming in Reason 6.5 (Summer we think).
