The power supply update improves the stability of the microprocessor and also eliminates the need for two supplies which reduces load as well as heat.The rev2 prophet-5 is most famous for its SSM chips. The rev2 has the SSM filters and envelope generators which most Prophet-5 say give it a distinction over the rev3 curtis based synths.
The new wood case is made from a beautiful exotic wood called African Padauk. The original case was walnut, but was cracked and chipped."
