Chiptune Groovebox/Workstation

via Adam Gahan on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge

"This is a chiptune groovebox/workstation built to run LSDJ, Nanoloop or mGB. It consists of 2 Gameboy Advance SPs. They are controlled from one set of buttons (the arcade buttons and the square arrow keys) The control wires are fed into a big old rotary switch from a SCSI switch box. You flip the switch to the left to control the left game boy and right for the other. The buttons are back lit and shine red for the left GBA and blue for the right GBA. There is a 9 pin D-sub on the front where a NES controller plugs into. This takes control of the second gameboy. so one person can take the pad, and one can take the controls of the unit, and jam out 8bit beats together. The Audio outs of the gameboys are first fed into two simple stereo active LP resonant filters. Then the audio from the filters goes into a passive 2 channel mixer and then finally to a stereo deep blue delay clone. Under the cartridge hood are switches for power, the delays bypass switches and a MIDI mode button for the Arduino boy that is built in. The arduinoboy syncs the two gameboys together and gives the unit MIDI I/O (not just sync, real time control too)"
