Behringer Teases New ARP Odyssey Clone for $500
This one sent my way via Atomic Shadow. The image and the quote below are from Behringer and not from someone teasing us. You might recall in this recent interview with Uli Behringer that he is considering making a new synth. The following is what Behringer had to saw with the image:
"How would you feel if we build an authentic ARP Odyssey synthesizer, but with a unique 3-mode VCF circuitry (that replicates all MK I to III versions) plus full Midi/USB implementation? Price around US$ 500. Shoot..."
It is interesting that they should choose the ARP Odyssey. KORG announced they were planning on building an ARP Odyssey clone back in February. There is sure to be competition on quality, feature set and price. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.
