Live from the subtractiveLAB - Episode 8

Published on Apr 7, 2015 Stephen Hummel

"The eighth video in the live, in-studio performance series from subtractiveLAD / Stephen Hummel.

This is a live ambient / deep-listening analogue synthesizer improvisation, performed over a drone patch that I created on the DSI Evolver.

I wanted to show how majestic the Roland RS-09 can be - I just love the sound of that synth... most of the soloing is on the RS-09. Noise/LFO sweeps are from the Korg Monotribe and the arpeggiator on the Arturia Minibrute is holding down the rhythmical stuff. The K2000 is being used as controller for the Evolver.

Synths featured:

Arturia Minibrute
DSI Evolver
Korg Monotribe
Roland RS-09

Hardware effects:

Line 6 Verbzilla
Boss / Roland Space Echo RE-20
EHX Pog
Boss Phase Shifter PH-3
Korg Mini Kaoss Pad"
