Welcome to SR388! This is one of the few melodic pieces from Metroid II: Return of Samus. That's not to say I don't love all of the music and sound in this game.

-Sustain & Expression pedals were connected to the MoPho, so I was controlling parameters such as panning, filter cutoff, and sustain with my feet)
