Akai to Release New Analog Poly Synth at NAMM

Akai posted the following along with the AX73 video below:

"It's easy to forgot how great the analog AX series synths sounded. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of its release, check out this sound demo video. Might be a great board for us to bring back..."

Now, that is some interesting news. Remember, Akai re-entered analog with the Rhythm Wolf, Timbre Wolf and Tom Cat. Thoughts?

  1. Anyone who's seen and heard the Timbre Wolf can't possibly be excited about that. Rather horrified.

  2. With the addition of sysex editing capability, then yes an AX-73 reissue would be sweet! An AX-60 would be even better...
