DreamsOfWires - watching the world go by Pt1 (Nave - iPad)

iTunes: Nave - Waldorf Music

"Original, more minimalistic version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUVOK...
Another recording using sounds created in Nave, which were made from mundane household objects. I like this kind of synthesis; apart from the degree of involvement and personalization it allows in the sound creation process, just making music with anything laying around that is capable of making a noise is rather satisfying. This is partly because it negates the need for expensive gadgets (excluding the iPad), but also because it reminds me of the early pioneers of electronic music, such as the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and the way they produced other-worldly music using 'found sounds'. The only difference is that nowadays any idiot can do it, myself being a good example.
Musicians:
Piano - Wooden spoon hitting a glass bowl
Drone - Old computer fan
Recorded entirely within Nave over 2 tracks using it's built-in effects and 'Tape' recorder.
Video is of recent travels."

"Part 2 of 3. This is also two layers recorded entirely within Nave, but using Beatmaker 2's sequencer - I wanted to try to compose something note-by-note in Midi, like I did back in the early 2000's when I didn't even own a Midi keyboard, just a sequencer and some softsynths. It was slow-going back then.
The video is a continuation of the journey from Pt1; in this case some views of Newcastle and it's bridges.
All sounds created from scratch by me."

Part 3 to follow.
