Goodbye To Mutable Instruments Clouds

Published on Oct 5, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"As we recently bid farewell to Mutable Instruments Braids, we now offer a respectful commemoration of Clouds: the texture synthesizer so many have come to love. Another mainstay of countless racks both new and old, the Clouds has done everything from deep washes to clicky, sputtery gestures and the world of Eurorack is weirder and more interesting for its existence.

Their outputs are summed with a XAOC Praga and run through a third Clouds in looping delay mode. Random modulation and looping envelopes scrub, chop, loop, and generally texturize the sequence for an ambient layer of sputtery, wandering harmony.

Clouds may be discontinued, but it certainly is not gone from our hearts and our music.
