Braids Synthesis Modules Series - #16 low-fi or hi-fi vowel Synthesis
Published on Jul 14, 2018 Omri Cohen
"I wanted to challenge myself and record every couple of days or so a full composition, using just the Macro Oscillator (Braids) as a sound source, in one specific mode. This is Day 16

Today I've used 4 Macro Oscillators in lo-fi or hi-fi vowel synthesis mode. The 1st oscillator is receiving voltage from the Seq-Triad 2 to its v/oct input, and to its timbre (a, e, i, o, u) and color (gender) through the Slew Limiter. It's then going through Ferox to Slap, which receives a trigger from the sequencer, and from there to Tangents and to the mixer. The cutoff point of Ferox is being modulated by the envelope output of Slap, and the cutoff point of Tangents is being modulated by Tact. Tact is modulating also the swing amount of CLK1, and it's being triggered by 4 s&h units. The CLK1 is driving the sequencer. The second oscillator is going through Freak to Ritardo, and from there to the mixer, and its timbre and color are being modulated by 2 lfos. The cutoff point of freak is also being modulated by another lfo. The 3rd oscillator is receiving v/oct from Mr Chainkov and is then going through Slap to Ritardo, and from there to the mixer. The cutoff point of Ritardo is being modulated by an lfo, which goes through the Dual Attenuverter. Mr Chainkov is also receiving cv and gate from the sequencer, and it's getting a trigger from a s&h unit, which also triggers its learn and forget inputs. It's then triggering Slap. The 4th oscillator is receiving v/oct from the Grid Sequencer, and its color and timbre are being modulated by an lfo. It's then going through Ritardo to Debriatus, to the mixer, and the GridSeq is receiving a gate from the clock."
