"These early revision models are renown for being the best sounding of this iconic instrument due to their use of the SSM VCO, VCF, and VCA integrated circuits. This is an unmodified example and perfect as an investment or for a studio wanting a prime model to offer their clients to use for session work.

This was a project that I worked on with master technician John Leimseider (JL) while i was employed at the National Music Centre in Calgary, Canada. During my apprenticeship we spent days restoring this instrument; since we were being paid salary, no corners were cut or expense was spared - we took our time to detail everything. John was amazing with Prophets, having been the main repair tech in Los Angeles from 1975 until 1999.

a detailed list of work includes:

- all keyboard bushings replaced
- all key tops removed and polished
- all key contacts cleaned and timed
- all tantalum capacitors replaced
- all pots safely lubricated
- all switches cleaned
- keyboard buss bar removed and polished
- power supply restored with new devices
- new power cord
- chassis completely stripped, panel and all surfaces cleaned
- battery replaced
- factory programs loaded
- complete calibration, burn in and test of all functions

This particular Prophet 5 has been extremely reliable for the 17 years I have had it. I purchased it from the original owner. Note the attractive smooth control panel like that of the earlier Rev1 instruments, not the later powder coat of most Prophets."
