#tb303 #strymon #refaceCP
This is not a demo or a showcase of the Strymon volante in any way, this is just me noodling around after a long hiatus trying to get back on track due to severe creative block. I have had zero inspiration lately.. so I needed to dial things back and work with a minimal setup to break the ice.
The 303 square bass is a very simple 8 step sequence, I wanted to make it feel bigger and more complex. So I used the "tape heads" in the volante to add/build up the track in a subtle way.
Half way through the track, I turn on a pre recorded loop (reface CP in reverse) on the 720 when I do the melody style editing on the Avalon.
Gear used:
* 303 square bass, Avalon bassline, through the Strymon volante (magnetic drum)
* Yamaha Reface CP, Rhodes piano, Rd1, 720 looper, Strymon blue sky (modulated room)
-- FX in reface CP, slight tremolo and a long analogue delay
All is mixed on a behringer 1002B, recorded straight into the Zoom H5.
-- Post processing, compressor and limiter to balance things out a bit.
I hope you will enjoy this one.
BooM !"
