AI Synthesis aisynthesis.com
In the year 2000, I was in college and obsessed with modular synths, but could barely afford to eat. I knew it was possible to build your own synth, but there wasn’t anyone, or anywhere to turn to for advice. In the past decade, much more information has been published online, and in 2013 I started down my path to DIY modular. Even with all of the information online, there still lacked a single, simple comprehensive guide for those looking to build their own synthesizer. I want AI Synthesis to be that guide. Prior to building my own synth, I was a dreamer, after building my modular, I felt I had awoken. I created AI Synthesis to help others do the same.

Ambianimity Unlimited facebook.com/Independant-Research-111425882233481

Ambianimity is a word Lars Jensen invented out of Latin verb roots back in high school years while working at Radioshack. Soon after that this same person was working at the inventor of computer graphic's vr lab for an invention but was put to work making soundtracks. Before my boss got fired at the research lab I was to set up an ATR project funded by Roland Sony and Yamaha at the Seattle Art Museum with my music in it. I went to electronics school for automatic factories after that, but became disillusioned with some of the things expected in ac analysis and still need to finish. why when synthesizers are fine ac sources would we need ac trigonometry, let alone the calculus and physics that we expect they do? After years of just making music after that I got into antenna energy experiments as a way of coping with electromagnetic pollution and went back to school and got a transfer degree with fpga programming and Japanese language included and studied c++ and arduino on my own. I wrote midi commands in strings of hex in software when I was 18, and am happy to be competant in developing midi devices now and not just the midi in the software. Being able to find out something new and useful and developing it myself is important. Inventing things can be relatively useless without development experience.

Industrial Music Electronics industrialmusicelectronics.com

IME was founded in 2007 by Scott Jaeger (b. 1981, Redmond, WA, USA) and is the exclusive outlet for his music instrument design work. The IRON CURTAIN ELECTRONICS series is created in collaboration with Vladimir Kuzmin (b. 1953, Vladivostok, RSFSR), and consists of modular releases of his work on the famous Polivoks synthesizer and more.

IME instruments are suitable for realtime low art enforcement. They provide immediate access to a musically useful way of sonic control, and they directly react to physical displacement in the form of control voltages. They don’t use narrow, menu-driven user interfaces or organ keyboards, and the arrangement of the controls is memorable. Preference is given to extreme and corrupt sonic character, but the devices are naturally able to produce most sounds due to their modular, analog/digital hybrid design.

IME formerly operated as The Harvestman Digital Audio Electronics until 2015. Products are manufactured in Portland, Oregon at Darkplace Manufacturing.

Synthwerks synthwerks.com

SYNTHWERKS manufactures Eurorack format music synthesizer modules, with a primary focus on Performance Modules and Utility modules. Performance modules are modules that the synthesist physically interacts with, allowing them more expressive options for control of their synthesizer than the traditional control voltage keyboard, or manually turning knobs on the modules themselves provide. Utilizing analog technologies, a series of Synthwerks Force Sensing Resistor (FSR), Slide pot modules, and Manual Gate pushbutton modules allow the performer a truly analog hands-on control of almost any voltage controlled element of their sound. The Utility Modules can add functionality to a synthesizer rig. These can be as simple as a patch cord checker, a flexible gooseneck LED panel light, USB power access, or a 5 volt power converter, or as complex as a Programmer/Sequencer. Albeit these modules are not as glamorous as a filter or sound source, but once installed and used, they would be sorely missed if absent.
