Granular Synthesis and Test Equipment Soundpack for Audio Damage Quanta

Published on Jan 21, 2020 HAINBACH

"In which I talk about the sound pack for the Audiodamage Quanta Granular Synthesizer I made from test equipment sounds.

Chris Randall of Audio Damage saw my video on the Princeton Applied Research 124A Lock-In Amplifier [2:10 here] and was impressed: he asked me if I could make a pack on basis of that machine for their synth Quanta, and I was more than happy to do that. Granular synthesis has been an old love of mine, it was even part of my masters exam back in University. Combining the test equipment with the granular tools was a perfect fit, and I was so happy with the pack that I incorporated it in my live and travel setup. In the video I describe the process, talk a bit about Quanta and go into the context of how I use these sounds personally.
