New Tom Oberheim Four Voice?
Two new videos of what appears to be a New Tom Oberheim Four Voice from Tom Oberheim himself. Note the Tom Oberheim signature on the keyboard panel.
Update: consensus seems to be this is an original Four Voice System. What threw me of was the Tom Oberheim signature. His new SEMs are based on the original hardware design, so a new Four Voice based on the original design isn't exactly far off either. The patch points on the top also made me think this might be a prototype Four Voice Pro. Is it? ;)

no videos are showing up. but if these are the 2 videos that were on his FB page with the reversed key low octave, it is a vintage unit.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like an old 4 voice with Tom's signature. The SEMs are the ones with the concentric pots. I went to Tom's site and saw no pictures of a new synth. The Sequential OB 6 is there. The photo here says "Tom Oberheim dot com" which limits its origin. My guess is that Tom did custom work on this old 4 voice.
ReplyDeleteI've seen vintage FVS-1s with top mounted patch points (modified from original, of course). Like JKW said, maybe Tom did some custom work to it - hence the name plate and appearing on his FB page.
